The conversation started from one student asked me whether he was well-prepared for the "ippon" at the end of our ji-geiko. My main point was to emphasise that we need to have more "engagement" or"ai-ki" (synchronisation) in ji-geoko. These are nothing new but all based on the teaching from Sensei such as Inoue Hanshi , Morioka Sensei and my sensei in Taiwan long time ago. In my attempt of trying to explain this idea, I used some personal experience such as "locked by Sensei and seeing how Sensei kills me", one Ted Talk I shared with them before, and lastly, a common Korean drama theme presenting romantic relationship.
