Hayashi sensei encouraged me to try to have 10 suburi a day, and from basic math, I would have about three thousand suburi a year later . This is a great example of accumulating small efforts to achieve a big goal.  While sharing this idea chat with my students her...

剣道指導の心構え 剣窓(平成20年2月号)」(日本語) "The Mindset of Kendo Instruction" and its explanation 「劍道指導的心態」及其解釋 Sam Tsai 中譯 Photo Credit: Rhone Yang The Significance of the Shinai - 竹劍的意義 For the correct transmission and development of Kendo, efforts should be made to teach the correct way of handling the shinai in accordance with the principles of the sword . Kendo is a way where the individual cultivates one’s mind (the self) by aiming for shin-ki-ryoku-itchi (unification of mind, spirit and technique) utilizing the shinai. The “shinai-sword” should be not only directed at one’s opponent but also at the self. Thus, the primary aim of instruction is to encourage the unification of mind, body and shinai through training in this discipline. When instructing, emphasis should be placed on etiquette to encourage re...

想跟女兒分享這個智慧,結果她回我: "Happy time" is the same:  Happy times don't last; happy people do.

[Hamilton Press] Hamilton sword fighting family says kendo not only for men

Hamilton sword fighting family says kendo not only for men KELLEY TANTAU Last updated 15:44, June 15 2017 Joyce Tsai, 15, is likely to be New Zealand's youngest kendo representative at the 2018 world championships, after learning the sport from her parents Marleen Charng and Sam Tsai. When Sam Tsai moved to Hamilton in 1998 he didn't speak English, didn't have any money and didn't know anyone. Despite this, he was encouraged to start up the region's first kendo club, and in 1999, he received 105 enrolments. "I'll never forget this number," Tsai said. Marleen Charng and Sam Tsai formed the Waikato Kendo Club in 1999. Their daughter Joyce now also competes. Kendo is a modern Japanese martial art which descended from swordsmanship, and combines martial arts practices with physical activity. "Kendo is not only a physical sport, there is a lot of philosophy behind it," Tsai said. "It can be a way...

diabetes etiquette for people who DON'T have diabetes 01 DON'T offer unsolicited advice about my eating or other aspects of diabetes. 02 DO realize and appreciate that diabetes is hard work. 03 DON'T tell me horror stories about your grandmother or other people with diabetes you have heard about. 04 DO offer to join me in making healthy lifestyle changes. 05 DON'T look so horrifie...

At a temperature of about 10 degrees above absolute zero (10 kelvins), weak electromagnetic radiation is emitted that peaks at about 1 THz. Thermal radiation is electromagnetic radiation generated by the thermal motion of charged particles in matter. All matter with a temperature greater than absolute zero emits thermal radiation. When the temperature of the body is greater than absolute zero, inter-atomic collisions cause the kinetic energy of the atoms or molecules to change. This results in charge-acceleration and/or dipole oscillation which produces electromagnetic radiation, and the wide spectrum of radiation reflects t...

I have a PHYSICS DEGREE of course I have PROBLEMS 〔 連結出處 〕 I'M A PHYSICS TEACHER I solve problems you don't know you have in ways you can't understand 我是一個物理老師: 我用你無法理解的方式,來解決你自己都不知道你有的「問題」。 Don't call me a cowgirl until you've seen me ride.

These Bones of Mine: Anatomically Modern Humans: A Brief Introduction Homo sapiens (Latin: "wise person") is the binomial nomenclature (also known as the scientific name) for the only extant human species . Homo is the human genus , which also includes Neanderthals and many other extinct species of hominid; H. sapiens is the only surviving species of the genus Homo .  Modern humans are the subspecies Homo sapiens sapiens , which differentiates them from what has been argued to be their direct ancestor, Homo sapiens idaltu . The ingenuity and adaptability of Homo sapiens has led to ...
